Short answer: the steadiest gold in Burning Crusade Classic Anniversary comes from farming primal elements and Netherweave Cloth in Outland, gathering ore and herbs for the crafters who need them, and using profession cooldowns such as Transmute: Primal Might. Finish your quests while leveling, avoid spending on things you will replace in a few levels, and check your realm's auction house before you farm anything.
Where the Anniversary realms are now
Burning Crusade Classic Anniversary launched on February 5, 2026, after a pre-expansion patch on January 13. Phase 1 opened Karazhan, Gruul's Lair, and Magtheridon's Lair, Phase 2 followed in May, and Phase 3 arrived on August 27, 2026 with Black Temple, the Battle for Mount Hyjal, Netherwing daily quests in Shadowmoon Valley, and new Jewelcrafting designs for epic gems. Unlike the original Burning Crusade Classic, the Anniversary realms have had a guild bank since launch, which makes it easier to pool materials and gold with your guild.
Each phase shifts demand. New raids raise the price of consumables, gems, and enchanting materials; older gear and materials drift down. The methods below hold up across phases, but what sells best on your realm this week is something only your auction house can tell you.
Gold while leveling (58-70)
- Finish your quests. Outland quests pay noticeably more gold than old-world quests, and Netherstorm in particular is packed with them. A quest-tracking addon such as Questie helps you find the ones you skipped.
- Gather as you go. Herbalism, Mining, and Skinning cost nothing to start and sell immediately. Fel Iron Ore is the first Outland ore (Hellfire Peninsula), Adamantite follows in Zangarmarsh, Terokkar Forest, and Nagrand, and Khorium is the rare high-end ore. Expect gathering spots in the early zones to be crowded.
- Keep the cloth. Netherweave Cloth drops from humanoids across Outland and is the base material for Tailoring bags and gear, so it keeps selling.
- Don't overspend on leveling gear. Quest rewards replace most of it quickly.

Primal elements
Primals are made from ten Motes of the same element and are used in a huge number of recipes, from enchants to Leatherworking and Engineering crafts, so they are a reliable seller. Well-known spots:
- Primal Mana: Kirin'Var Village in Netherstorm, where Mana Seekers and Mageslayers drop Motes of Mana. Engineers use Primal Mana for Super Sapper Charges, which keeps demand up.
- Primal Fire: the Throne of Kil'jaeden in Hellfire Peninsula, and the Elemental Plateau in Nagrand.
- Primal Air: the Elemental Plateau in Nagrand, the closest air spot to Shattrath.
- Primal Shadow: around Oshu'gun in Nagrand and the outer edges of Hellfire Peninsula.
Engineers with the Zapthrottle Mote Extractor can also harvest gas clouds: Water in Zangarmarsh, Air in Nagrand, Shadow in Shadowmoon Valley, and Mana in Netherstorm. Popular camps get contested, so try a quieter area or time.
Netherweave Cloth and reputation items
Two camps stand out for cloth. In Shadowmoon Valley, the Shadow Council Warlocks around Legion Hold drop Netherweave along with Fel Armaments and Marks of Sargeras, which Aldor players buy for reputation. In Netherstorm, the Sunfury Astromancers, Warp-Engineers, and Warp-Masters around Manaforge B'naar drop cloth plus Sunfury Signets and Arcane Tomes for the Scryers. Shadowmoon's mobs are packed closer together but include more elites; Netherstorm's are more spread out but easy to pull in small groups. Selling the reputation items to players on the other side of the Aldor/Scryers choice is often worth more than the cloth itself.
Dungeon farms
Some classes can farm Outland dungeons for chests, gathering nodes, and sellable drops. Stealth classes run The Steamvault and Mana-Tombs, picking up herb and ore nodes and lockboxes along the way; protection Paladins have long farmed older instances such as Stratholme and The Black Morass. Note that in April 2026 Blizzard tied dungeon experience and non-boss loot on the Anniversary realms to how many players actually take part in each fight, aimed at boosting and farming setups, so check the current rules before you build a routine around trash loot.
Professions: what to pick
- Mining + Jewelcrafting: Jewelcrafters prospect ore for gems, which keeps ore in demand, and gems are needed by everyone gearing up for each phase. Phase 3 added epic gem designs, sold in the Caverns of Time, for gems that drop in the Tier 6 raids.
- Herbalism + Alchemy: herbs such as Dreaming Glory and Flame Cap feed raid potions and flasks. Alchemists at 350 skill can learn Transmute: Primal Might from the alchemy suppliers in Shattrath City, Silvermoon City, or The Exodar; it has a 20-hour cooldown, so it pays to use it every day.
- Tailoring + Enchanting: Tailors turn Netherweave into bags that always sell, and Enchanters can disenchant gear that doesn't sell and sell the materials instead.
- Skinning + Leatherworking: a dependable pairing for a main, with steady demand for leather and armor kits.
- Engineering: great utility for raiders and PvPers, and the only way to use the Mote Extractor, but on its own it tends to cost more gold than it makes.
- Fishing and Cooking: secondary professions that add up; Outland fish such as Golden Darter, Furious Crawdad, and Icefin Bluefish feed popular cooking recipes.
Auction house tips
Raid materials are worth the most right before raid nights, so post consumables and gems early in the week and buy your own materials when prices dip. Compare the price of a primal against ten motes, and a crafted item against its materials, before you craft or sell. If something is not selling at a fair price, disenchant or vendor it instead of clogging your bags.
A simple routine for busy players
You don't need long sessions to make steady gold in Outland. A routine that fits into a normal evening looks like this:
- Log in, use any profession cooldown you have, and check the auction house for the materials you farm or craft with.
- Post anything that is selling above your minimum price; vendor or disenchant what isn't.
- Spend the rest of the session on one farm (a primal camp, a cloth camp, or a gathering route) rather than hopping between several.
- Before raid nights, make sure your consumables and gems are already listed.
Over a phase, sticking to one or two markets you understand usually beats chasing whatever looked profitable yesterday. You learn what a fair price looks like, when buyers show up, and when to hold stock instead of selling into a crowded market.
Gold on a PvP realm
Outland's farming spots are shared by both factions, and on PvP realms that means you'll sometimes be interrupted. Busy camps such as Netherstorm's elemental areas and the Nagrand plateaus see the most traffic. If a spot is contested, it is usually faster to move to a quieter one, switch to gathering, or come back at an off-peak hour than to fight over it. Flying makes this much easier once you have it, since you can skip ground traffic and reach isolated nodes.
Common beginner mistakes
- Selling raw materials at a loss right after a phase launches, when everyone else is selling too.
- Skipping quests you could finish in a few minutes; Outland quest gold adds up fast.
- Letting profession cooldowns such as Transmute: Primal Might sit unused.
- Buying epic flying or expensive gear before checking whether a cheaper option gets you through the current phase.
- Undercutting by large amounts instead of a single copper or silver, which drives prices down for everyone, you included.
Time vs. reward
Gold per hour depends heavily on your realm's economy, how contested your farm is, and the current phase. Guides that publish exact gold-per-hour figures are describing one realm at one moment, so we don't. In general: gathering and primal farming are dependable and need no capital; crafting and cooldowns pay more per minute but need materials and market knowledge; dungeon farms depend on your class and the current loot rules.
Quick reference: pick a method for your situation
- Fresh 70 with no gold: finish your remaining Outland quests, then farm Netherweave Cloth and reputation items in Shadowmoon Valley or Netherstorm. Everything you loot sells, and none of it needs starting capital.
- Gathering character: fly a mining or herb route through Nagrand, Blade's Edge Mountains, or Shadowmoon Valley, and sell into the demand from Jewelcrafters and Alchemists.
- Class that solos well: pick one primal camp and stick to it; compare the primal price against ten motes before selling.
- Stealth class: learn a dungeon chest and node route, but check the current loot rules first.
- Crafter with some capital: use your cooldowns daily, buy materials on quiet days, and sell consumables and gems before raid nights.
- Very little playtime: one cooldown and one quick auction house check a day still adds up over a phase.
