Japan Data Center: Three FFXIV Worlds Still Offline Due to Server Hardware Failure
Atomos, Garuda, and instanced areas on the Japan Data Center remain down after core server equipment failed. Hardware replacement is underway, with a few more hours estimated before restoration.
Square Enix has provided an update on the ongoing outage affecting several worlds on the Japan Data Center. A failure in the core server equipment tied to the affected worlds has led to a hardware replacement, which is currently in progress.
The disruption began on November 5, 2026, starting at 12:26 a.m. PST for Atomos, 12:32 a.m. PST for Garuda, and 12:37 a.m. PST for instanced areas on the Japan Data Center. While it lasts, players cannot access the affected worlds, travel to them through the World Visit or Data Center Travel systems, or change their Home World to one of them. Free Company chat is also unavailable when visiting another world while your Home World is affected, and some companion app features are limited, including market purchases for visiting characters. Players in the middle of a duty on an affected world will be disconnected when they leave it and cannot log back in until service returns. Some instanced content on the Japan Data Center is also inaccessible.
The estimated time to finish restoration work is a few more hours. The developers have apologized for the inconvenience and asked players to remain patient until service is fully restored.
